The buildings at our resort and the ones in Kruger National Park typically have thatched roofs. Our villa stays about the same temperature inside (probably 20C) whether in the heat of day or the cool of night. The thatched roofs and large overhangs are really effective. There is no insulation or inside covering on the ceilings.
